BFA Programs

Performing Arts

Arts education and cutting edge art making that leads the 21st century

In the School of Creative Performance, students of acting, dance, theater, Korean Music, applied music, dramatic writing as well as the School of Creative Media converge to produce performances and deepen their understanding of their own fields of study. Playwrights write the scripts; actors and dancers perform; musicians score and perform the music; directors and designers stage the performance; and arts managers plan and produce the work. Students of Korean Music and Applied Music collaborate with other ethnic musicians to create world music to be mastered or performed. Theater major students assist with the staging and arts management students coordinate the concert. Through cooperation students produce work in addition to deepening their understanding of their individual disciplines. BFA students have the opportunity to explore various facets of performance from reinterpreting the classics; to implementing moving images to performance; and telematically connecting various locations for intercultural collaborations. All the work created by the student can be added to their portfolio for reference as they enter the industry of their choice after graduation.
