Admissions Guide

Eligibility

Foreign nationals whose parents are both foreign nationals

1. (Nationality) The applicant and the applicant’s parents are both of non-Korean nationality.

2. (Academic Qualifications) Applicants who have graduated or are expected to graduate from a regular high school in Korea or overseas

3. (Korean Language Proficiency) Applicants who satisfy one of the conditions below.

① Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) Level 2 or higher
② Korea Immigration & Integration Program (KIIP) Level 2 or higher
③ Completed Beginner Level 2 or higher at the King Sejong Institute
④ Sejong Korean language Assessment(SKA) 216 points or higher
⑤ Completed Level 3 or higher at a Korean language institute/school run by a university in Korea

* Exemption

Applicants who have graduated (or are expected to graduate) from a regular high school in Korea are exempt from submitting proof of Korean language proficiency. However, they are required to submit a Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) score report of Level 3 or above within one year of enrollment.

 

Important for Korean Language Proficiency

  1.  In case of foreign national applicants who have graduated (or expected graduate) from a regular high school in Korea are exempt from submitting proof of their Korean language proficiency.
  2. Only certificates of completion from the basic program of the King Sejong Institute are accepted; certificates from the online King Sejong Institute are not recognized.
  3. Mandatory submission of a TOPIK Level 3 or higher score report within one year of enrollment is required for applicants who fall under any of the categories below:
    ① Those exempt from submitting proof of Korean language proficiency due to graduation (or expected graduation) from a regular high school in Korea
    ② Those who have completed the Korea Immigration & Integration Program (KIIP)
    ③ Those who have submitted a certificate of completion from the King Sejong Institute
    ④ Those who have submitted a Sejong Korean language Assessment (SKA) score report
    ⑤ Those who have completed a Korean language program at a university-run Korean language institute in Korea
    ⑥ Those who have submitted a TOPIK Level 2 score report

Required documents

 

Note 1) Documentation of academic credentials should be in one of the three forms listed below

① Apostille authenticated documents (transcript and graduation certificate for primary and secondary education)

② Consular legalized documents (either by a Korean Consul in the country of the applicant’s citizenship or by a Consul to Korea from the country of the applicant’s citizenship)

③ Transcripts and certificates issued by the China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Information (www.cdgdc.edu.cn)

 

Korean Language Proficiency

1. Applicants who satisfy one of the conditions below.

① Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) Level 2 or higher
② Korea Immigration & Integration Program (KIIP) Level 2 or higher
③ Completed Beginner Level 2 or higher at the King Sejong Institute
④ Sejong Korean language Assessment(SKA) 216 points or higher
⑤ Completed Level 3 or higher at a Korean language institute/school run by a university in Korea

2. TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean)

– Administrator : National Institute for International Education (NIIED), Ministry of Education in Korea

– Test Results : TOPIK results are valid for two(2) years from the time of test result announcement

– You can check the schedule and location of the ational/international examination through the website.
